SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 TO COME WITH IMPROVED IPHONE-LIKE FINGERPRINT SCANNER: REPORT

Fuelling more leaks that have already surfaced on Samsung’s next flagship, reports over possible new tweaks for its fingerprint technology are now emerging. The Galaxy S6 will also feature a fingerprint sensor like the Galaxy S5, but will now be touch-based and not swipe-based.
On the Galaxy S5, we saw the swipe-based fingerprint sensor that courted bad user experiences, simply because it resulted in many errors, often leaving users frustrated. The sensor was built into the home button, but there was less room for the finger to swipe, therefore often registering only a partially failed print.
Sammobile, citing anonymous sources, is saying that the company is ditching the swiped-based sensor, and instead bringing in a touch-based sensor. This will again be integrated under the home button, but the company has increased the size on the home button for seamless use of the new sensor. It is supposed to work similar to what we see on iPhones.
With the fingerprint touch-based sensor, all you need to do is touch your finger on the sensor and remove your finger. The report also states that this technology is still on the drawing-table phase and has not been tested yet.
Samsung is believed to be planning on unveiling the flagship Galaxy S6 early next month at MWC in Barcelona. The company is also said to have showcased the flagship device to a select few at CES last week.
Apart from new fingerprint tech, Samsung is also revamping its TouchWiz UI for the flagship. It is also rumored to flaunt a QHD Super AMOLED display sized somewhere between 5.2-inch to 5.5-inch. It will be powered by an Exynos 7420 chipset or a Snapdragon 810 chipset depending upon the region, and will also feature 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a 20-megapixel camera.
